The TATHA Gallery lies on the beautiful banks of the River Tay commanding spectacular views westwards towards Perth, north towards Dundee and the new V&A designed by Kengo Kuma. The gallery is situated in Newport on Tay in a large white Georgian building at the bottom of the high street. Tatha Gallery forms part of the building known as The Newport.
Newport-on-Tay is a small, bustling town in north-east Fife, Scotland. The Fife Coastal path passes right past our door. We are lucky enough to be surrounded by wonderful views up and down river with commanding vistas of both The Tay Rail and Road Bridges. Landscape, seascapes and skyscapes can be enjoyed all within a few miles radius of Newport with Kinshaldy beach at Tentsmuir being popular draw. Dundee is within an 2.5 mile walk from the gallery and regular buses travel regularly over the bridge north to Dundee. The golfing town of St. Andrews is only a 20 minute drive away.
Newport is the perfect to escape to. Come and unwind and relax, enjoy the art and food and views all under the one roof and yet be only a short distance away from Dundee and all it has to offer.
Tatha Gallery is in on the B946 1 mile west of the Tay Road Bridge. If driving from Dundee take the first exit off the roundabout. Turn left at the T junction and head west towards Newport High Street. Continue down the high street and you will see a large white Georgian building just before the mini roundabout. Parking is available on the street (restrictions may apply) or at the back of the building. To access private parking continue west on the one way system and make a loop by taking the first available right turn which takes you down boat brae and past the harbour. Parking is on the left hand side in the Newport carpark.
By Rail. The closest train station is Dundee. A short taxi ride can be taken from there over the bridge to Newport on Tay.
By Bus. There is a regular number 77 bus service to and from Dundee. Time table
