My work incorporates collage and painting with sculptural qualities. It is an exploration of texture, colour and shape using found and recycled material. I enjoy the process of creating work from scavenged material, creating something new from something old. This extends to my artwork as well as I often recycle older paintings: breaking them up, changing the composition, building up layers and scraping them back to create unexpected shapes and textures. I use block work structure to convey an urban environment and pay homage to the space that the material came from.
