These pieces are part of an ongoing exploration of memory and our perception of the past, using found photographs and text.
I work with old photographs, looking at them through the prism of my own experience, adding and subtracting layers of significance. The viewer then brings their own stratum of meaning, memories and interpretation.
The artist book in the form of a box within a box. It is an attempt to secure my own memories. I started by writing my childhood recollections in an unstructured way. I then added the box to give them a structure; last, the stone is there to weigh them down.
