Jacki Parry’s work ‘What the Light was Like’ also had a quiet yet unquestionably powerful presence which instantly grabbed our attention. Nine constructed paper ‘stones’ of the same size in graded shades of pale turquoise formed a line, seeming almost to float in their Perspex frame. We found the beauty and the stunning skill within this work completely captivating.
Last year we awarded two prizes at the 198th RSA Open Exhibition. These awards went to two extraordinary artists, Donald Macdonald and Jacki Parry, whose works resonated with us in unexpected and very satisfying ways. Each very different in their processes and the media they use, but both connected in their attention to detail, their incredible skill and their originality.
We have brought these two artists together in a thoroughly compelling two person show and we are very excited to share their beautiful, innovative works with you in our gorgeous gallery space.
