This winter we are delighted to be hosting a very special feature in our smaller gallery space: a dedicated show highlighting the work of Norman Gilbert. This will be our final exhibition of Norman’s paintings, making it both a rare opportunity to see his beautiful work and a deeply meaningful moment for us.
Norman devoted his lifetime to painting; the people close to him, the places and objects surrounding him, the patterns he saw and the moments of everyday life happening around him. Each of his paintings tells us a rich and colourful story of human connection and family life and ultimately presents us with a chronicle of his life as he lived it.
Norman’s work transcends generations and brings joy to young and old alike. His paintings are to be found all over the world in the homes of people who, like us, have fallen in love with his vibrant, tender artworks.
Our relationship with Norman has long been a cherished part of our gallery’s story, and we cannot wait to see his beautiful paintings gracing our walls once more.
