We are truly thrilled to bring the magical and incredibly beautiful work of Joe Fan to Tatha this year. This exhibition marks a very rare and special occasion for us: a solo show in which a single artist inhabits the entire gallery space.
We are very excited to have this opportunity having been huge admirers of Joes’s work for many years. For us, Joe is one of the most compelling artists working today.
We present a body of work created by Joe especially for this show, made up of semi-autobiographical pieces realized in his inimitable style, with humour, lightheartedness and a delightful irreverence at their core.
These works depict everyday life for Joe alongside memories, scenes from his imagination and creations of make-believe worlds where Joe controls the narrative – where one idea flows into another and paintings emerge which please and amuse him.
