Poppy Fraser is a Bristol-born fine artist who graduated from Glasgow School of Art in July 2023 with a BA Hons in Fine Art: painting & printmaking. Poppy was the recipient of the Royal Glasgow Institute Graduate Award 2023, RSA New Contemporary award and the Glasgow Print Studio prize.
Poppy is a multidisciplinary artist, her intentions through her creative practice are to make the viewer look more closely at figures occupying space. Photographs are the main starting point to her work, whether in the form of found images, archive family photographs or images she has taken on her 35mm camera to capture a moment in time. These then inform her output in a variety of different mediums including printmaking, drawing and painting. Using these mediums, she explores these of feminism, family, memory, time, roots and nostalgia.
