Mass production, sales, trends, influences, stolen culture, and stereotypical expectations are all methods of capital gain in this society of material wealth. ‘Collectors’ item contrasts of readily available cheap Fine China at our local supermarkets.

The West loves the exotic East, so why not utilise this? Is a work oriental merely because a Chinese person made it?

My work explores themes of the Chinese Diaspora and cultural identity within the context of British and Western society where nowadays, the West is plagiarising the East. I am a Chinese British individual who creates work that provokes the Western perception of Chinese culture through stereotypes and cultural shifts in the UK

Currently, I am beginning my journey on the MPharm course at Robert Gordon’s University to broaden my interest in working with the public health. I am eager to learn at every opportunity to gain valuable experiences and further improve my skillsets. I am excited to see how my background as an artist goes hand in hand with the knowledge and experiences gained from the MPharm course and how the art I create will be influenced.
