Tama Marie Gray

Statement

I explore the webs of association that connect our past with our present, whose threads are countless memories are attached to particular objects, habits, sensations, or rituals. The slightest taste or an indescribable shift in the weather can return you to a moment years in the past. Controlling transparency and textural finish enables some elements to be revealed where others have been glazed over or supplanted. One memory overlays another, while others are intertwined inseparably even though, to an external audience, they sound incongruent, completely unconnected.
